Randy McElwain, 46, of Lake Orion, MI will continuously swim an estimated 32 miles across Lake Erie from Long Point, ON to Dobbins Landing in Erie, PA in a record time for the route.
The swim will take approximately 16 hours requiring him to swim into the night.
A slightly shorter route has been successfully swam 3 times in documented history.
A team of 7 experienced in open water swim support have been assembled.
Swim will comply with all open water swimming standards.
